Damage Causes of WGZ Type Drum Gear Coupling with Brake Wheel

The motor in the WGZ type drum gear coupling with brake wheel is actually supported by a sliding bearing. The factory standard rotor axial movement is 5% of the magnetic center of the motor, and the position of the magnetic center is not marked. , and the allowable axial movement of the gear coupling is 5%. It is precisely because the axial movement of the rotor of the main motor is greater than the axial movement of the drum gear coupling, which causes the start and stop of the main motor. During the process, the axial movement of the rotor produces a large impact force on the gear coupling, causing damage to the gear.

The structure and principle of the WGZ type drum gear coupling with brake wheel before the improvement: the connection between the motor and the coupling before the improvement is: the matching part of the motor and the half coupling 4 is 6mm, the length is 32mm, and the shaft is 32mm long. There is no keyway on the top, and the key connection cannot transmit torque. According to the assembly requirements of the motor, the torque is mainly transmitted by the two M5 set screws fixed on the semi-coupling. In the process of use, this structure has the following shortcomings: (1) There is a line-surface contact between the motor shaft and the set screw, the contact surface is particularly small, and the transmission torque is limited. (2) The threaded connection does not have the function of preventing loosening. After several disassembly and assembly and long-term operation, the relative rotation and axial movement of the half coupling shaft and the motor shaft will cause the equipment to fail to work.

If the WGZ type drum gear coupling with brake wheel is in use, if the motor is not installed properly, because the motor does not indicate the position of the magnetic force center, the rotor position of the motor is not in the magnetic force center during the static installation process. In terms of position, the influence of the magnetic center of the motor is ignored during the installation process. When the motor rotates, due to the pinning effect of the gear coupling, the rotor of the motor cannot be positioned under the magnetic center, which aggravates the impact on the gear coupling and accelerates the damage of the gear shaft.
