Plum couplings are simple in structure without lubrication

Plum couplings have good balance and are suitable for high speed applications (up to 30,000 RPM), but cannot handle large deviations, especially axial deviations. Large eccentricity and deflection angles can produce a larger bearing load than other servo couplings. Another value concern is the failure of the quincunx elastic coupling. If the quincunx elastic spacer is damaged or fails, torque transmission is not interrupted and the metal claws of the two bushings are engaged to continue transmission of torque, which is likely to cause problems with the system. It is a great advantage of this coupling to choose suitable material of quincunx elastic spacer according to actual application. The elastic element of the plum coupler is approximately the shape of the plum, the coupling has compensation for the relative offset of two shafts, damping, cushioning performance, small diameter size, simple structure without lubrication, high bearing capacity and convenient maintenance, the replacement of the elastic element needs to move axially, suitable for connecting the coaxis, starting frequently, positive and negative changes, medium speed, Medium torque and other transmission shafting and high reliability requirements of the working parts. It is not suitable for the parts with low speed, heavy load and limited axial size that are difficult to align the two axes after replacing the elastic element. The quincunx elastic coupling is machined by turning, milling, and broaching, and then subjected to integral heat treatment to ensure sufficient strength.
