Medium and light universal couplings are often used in automobiles, machine tools and other vehicles and light industrial machinery.

Small universal coupling is mainly used to transfer motion, generally used in precision machinery and control mechanisms. So how to choose the right coupling, when using what are the matters needing attention?

1 Coupling application selection

1. Due to manufacturing, installation, load deformation and temperature changes, it is difficult to maintain the strict alignment of the two axes after installation and adjustment.

There is a certain degree of X and Y direction displacement and deviation Angle CI. When the radial displacement is large, the slider coupling can be selected, and the universal coupling can be selected when the angular displacement is large or the connection between the two axes is intersecting. When the two axes have a large additional relative displacement in the working process, flexible coupling should be selected.

For high speed drive shaft, should choose the coupling with high balance accuracy, such as diaphragm coupling, and should not choose the existence of eccentric slider coupling.

For example, for high-power heavy load transmission, can choose the gear coupling; The coupling with high elasticity can be selected for the transmission of severe impact load or the transmission requiring the elimination of torsional vibration of shafting system.

Unlubricated couplings, usually made of metal elements, are more reliable; The performance of couplings requiring lubrication is easily affected by the degree of lubrication perfection and may pollute the environment. Coupling containing rubber and other non-metallic components is sensitive to temperature, corrosive media and strong light, and easy to age.

7. Manufacture, installation, maintenance and cost of couplings.

On the premise of satisfying the convenient performance, the coupling with convenient assembly and disassembly, simple maintenance and low cost should be selected. For example, the rigid coupling is not only simple in structure, but also convenient in assembly and disassembly. It can be used for low speed and large rigid drive shaft. General non-metallic elastic coupling (such as elastic sleeve pin coupling, elastic pin coupling, plum blossom elastic coupling, etc.), because of its good comprehensive ability, is widely used in general medium and small power transmission.

2 The use of coupling matters needing attention

01 Coupling is not allowed to exceed the specified axis line skew and radial displacement, so as not to affect its transmission performance.
