It is necessary to know the cause of misalignment of toothed couplings

Coupling misalignment is divided into deflection misalignment, parallel misalignment and comprehensive misalignment. Deflection Angle misalignment means that the end face of the coupling is biased, and the axis lines of the two half couplings show an included Angle, which generates vibration force and induces vibration response in the rotating state. Parallel misalignment means that the axis lines of two semi-couplings are not on the same straight line, but are parallel to each other to maintain a distance, resulting in vibration response in the rotating state. Comprehensive misalignment is a common misalignment phenomenon in actual rotating machinery. It has both deflection Angle misalignment and parallel misalignment. It is the synthesis of both.

why

In the manufacturing process, the end face and the axis center line are not vertical or the center line of the end bolt hole is different from the journal because of the process or measurement reasons. In the installation process, after tightening the connecting bolt (gear sleeve bolt), the rotating shaft will be deformed, and the journal will have a large degree of sway. Sometimes, due to the difference in the tightening force of the screw bolt connecting the circumferential direction of the coupling, it will also cause the same situation as the deflection of the end face of the coupling. In the process of operation, if the working condition changes dramatically, for example, in the process of load, when the load is brought to a certain value (that is, the shafting torque increases to a certain value), the couplings will misposition each other, the shafting state will change, and the vibration response of the rotor connected by the couplings will change abruptly. Shafting torque changes greatly in an instant, forming impact on the couplings that transmit torque, making the couplings misaligned with each other and changing the state of shafting alignment.
