Improved design and procedure specification for coupling retaining pin device

The elastic pin coupling is composed of two halves connected with the driving shaft and the driven shaft respectively. A mechanical part used to connect two shafts (drive and driven) in a different mechanism so that they rotate together to transmit torque. In high speed and heavy load power transmission, some couplings also have the function of buffering, damping and improving the dynamic performance of shafting. General power machines are usually connected with working machines by means of couplings.

Aiming at the problems existing in the original standard design, the author improved the design of the retaining pin structure of LX type elastic pin coupling. The instructions are as follows:

1. The flange hole of the left half coupling is designed as a reducing through hole, so that the original design of the left baffle is omitted. When replacing the pin, the old pin can be pushed out from left to right through the hole.

2. The inner side of the right half coupling is processed into a "fancy" retaining pin structure. That is, a groove is processed inside the flange. The groove is located in the center of the circumference of the flange hole, about 4mm wide × 8mm deep.

When replacing the new shaft pin, use 12# ~ 14# iron wire in the groove around a circle after binding, play the role of retaining pin, instead of the original baffle.

The existing LX elastic pin coupling can also be modified in the field. That is, the workpiece which is similar to the structure of the "fancy" stopper on the inner side of the flange is welded to the original coupling, which will not be described here.

A coupling is a component that connects two shafts axially and transmits torque and motion and has the required ability to compensate for the offset of the two shafts. On this basis, the coupling must be concentric. From the mechanical point of view, the coupling is stressed, it is the motor by charging to drive the coupling to rotate, and then the coupling drives the equipment to rotate, in the coupling, concentric is very important, otherwise it will affect the motor. Coupling in mechanical transmission is to reduce the vibration of the mechanical transmission system, reduce the impact peak load, but also should have the necessary buffer damping performance, sometimes also have overload protection, and the coupling concentric motor power consumption is normal, transmission efficiency will be very high; If the power loss increases when the coupling is not centered, the transfer efficiency will be reduced, and the current of the motor will naturally increase, which will lead to the consequence that the motor may be burned.
