Stainless steel diaphragm coupling is generally made of austenitic stainless steel, which contains more than 18% chromium, about 8% nickel, containing a small amount of molybdenum, titanium, nitrogen and other elements. Its comprehensive performance is good, can resist the corrosion of a variety of media. Austenitic stainless steel commonly used grades are 1Cr18Ni9, 0Cr19Ni9, etc. The wC of 0Cr19Ni9 steel is <0.08%, and the steel number is marked as "0". This type of steel contains large amounts of Ni and Cr, making the steel austenitic at room temperature. This kind of steel has good plasticity, toughness, weldability and corrosion resistance, corrosion resistance in oxidizing and reducing medium is good, used to make acid resistant equipment, such as corrosion resistant containers and equipment lining, pipeline, nitric acid resistant equipment parts. <>

The diaphragm coupling is a bit like a bellows coupling in that it transmits torque in the same way. The diaphragm itself is thin, so it bends easily when a relative displacement load is applied, and thus can withstand up to 1.5 degrees of deviation while producing a lower bearing load in the servo system. Diaphragm couplings are commonly used in servo systems. The diaphragm has good torque rigidity, but is slightly less rigid than bellows couplings. Diaphragm couplings, on the other hand, are very delicate and can easily be damaged if misused or improperly installed in service. Therefore, it is very necessary to ensure that the deviation is within the tolerance range of the normal operation of the coupling. Choosing the right coupling is the key step to use the good coupling. In the design stage, we have to consider what type of coupling to choose. Compared with the gear coupling, diaphragm coupling has no relative sliding, no lubrication, no sealing, no noise, basically no maintenance, convenient manufacturing, can partly replace the gear coupling. Diaphragm coupling has been widely used in developed places. In China, the mechanical industry standard has been formulated. Recently, it has been revised to a new industry standard: JB/T 9147-1999 (instead of ZB/T J19022-90) for the relationship between the torque of coupling.
