Rigid couplings are more commonly used flange couplings, which are formed by bolting two half couplings with flanges. The flange shoulders and grooves of the two half couplings are centered. The frictional force between the contact surfaces of the two halves of the coupling transmits torque, and the two halves of the coupling are connected by ordinary bolts. The hinged hole is used for centering, and the torque is directly transmitted by the extrusion between the bolt and the wall of the bolt hole. The flange coupling is easy to use, can transmit a large torque, and requires high neutrality during installation. It is mainly used in occasions with good rigidity, low speed and stable load.
