Brief analysis on the structure and application of wavy diaphragm coupling

The structure of wave diaphragm coupling is composed of half coupling, compression ring, wave diaphragm group, bolt, spline tooth ring, middle sub, retaining ring and septum.


The diaphragm group of wavy diaphragm coupling is connected with the semi-coupling with bolts. The hole in the diaphragm is a spline hole, which is connected with the spline tooth ring and positioned with a spacer. The spline tooth ring is connected with the middle short joint to transfer torque and absorb the vibration and deflection of the shaft in operation by the deformation of the diaphragm.


Wave-like diaphragm coupling diaphragm elastic deformation is large, so the axial displacement compensation ability is large, and the axial thrust is small, do not need lubrication, not only can simplify the unit facilities, but also can eliminate lubricating oil pollution to the environment, transmission power, simple maintenance, but complex structure, high manufacturing requirements.


Wavy diaphragm couplings are suitable for high speed and heavy axial displacement turbine, compressor and multistage pump applications.
